About the artwork

A portrait of a male head and upper body, looking towards the viewer with facial features distorted in form. His short brown hair is swept across the forehead, framing a face detailed with bold, expressive planes of colour. The textured background is divided between a muted dusty pink on the left and a warm golden-brown on the right. Earthy browns, terracotta, slate blues, ochre yellows, olive greens, dusty pinks and soft greys.
